The Inti Guard of Machu Picchu

Mary Lou lowered her voice as she described her ascent to the ancient city of Machu Picchu in the Andes Mountains. They had set up a camp to study some of the ruins and discovered a temple with a carved condor at the entrance. A set of steps descended deep into the center of the mountain city. At the bottom they found a large stone room and dug through about eight feet of mud to a stone floor... Once the room was cleared, they pried up a rock in the floor and found a hidden chamber... The room had been carefully carved out of the rock deep inside Machu Picchu. At the far end of the room there was a stone altar... There was a gold and silver box on the altar... The shaman spoke, "This is the sweat of the sun and the tears of the moon, the greatest treasure of the Inca people."
