Growin' Up in '45 captures the nostalgic lure of a bygone era. Recalling the hilarious antics of a group of adventuresome teenagers and their care-free attitudes, Max Geyer has created a great blend of characters. A semi-autobiographical sketch of the author's childhood adventures, the story takes place in a small town in Indiana. This naturally resourceful band of youthful boys, ranging in age from 13 to 15 years, is able to find excitement in their small town, and complicate their lives in the process. Their experiences range from high adventure to total terror, and lead them into many hilarious situations. Without a doubt, the life-changing experiences encountered during 1945 significantly accelerated the "growin' up" process for these young men.
