Safian Swift thought he had destroyed the great Warlord Couldis when he banished magic from the world, but the Warlord is not so easily destroyed. Now magic has been released, and with it, the long thought dead, Warlord Couldis. The world is ignorant of the ways of magic giving the Warlord free reign to terrorize the lands. Swept up into the Warlord's ugly world is Ryle Sojourn. In the wrong place at the wrong time, his nice little world is shattered with death and destruction. Ryle may have the power to stand up to the Warlord, but understanding those powers is a problem all its own. The adventure begins.
