Without Alice
Random Da Shea
It's been nine years since Alice left Wonderland, and everything's gone downhill. Taxes are rising, hopes are falling, and rebellious graffiti is the order of the day. In a desperate attempt to save the land, the reigning Queen sends a group of convicts to our world to find Alice and bring her back- or die trying, since she needs the extra cell space anyway. Leading the convicts is Axford Barrel, a young man recently jailed for pick-pocketing, graffiti, and other crimes. Looking for a savior, he finds instead Breca, a young woman trying to outrun Death, who has developed an irrational crush on her. Desperate to get as far away as possible, she agrees to pretend to be Alice, leading to otherworldly love triangles, poetry recitations, and mass confusion. In other words, all in a day's work. Breca, meet Wonderland. Wonderland, meet Alice.
