Finding Debra Sue is the story of a woman who was determined to forget the pain of her childhood. When tragedy strikes, heaped on top of too many mishaps that came over the years, it takes a toll that sends her into an emotional free fall. In the midst of her crisis, she turns to face her childhood for the first time. As a process of healing she committed to write her story, and learn the lessons her life had to teach. Yet in revealing herself she remained reticent, and needed a place to start. An unexpected gift, a set of diaries and correspondence, allowed the exploration of her deeper family history, and gave her the narrative she sorely needed.
