SANTON DOWNHAM is the concluding volume of the six-book series entitled, The Woodsman of Anglia. It sets forth the last forty-two "shewings" of the Woodsman, a Christian mystic who resided in the latter half of 15th-century pre-Reformation England in that section of Northwest Suffolk, England, known as the Brecklands. The time period is set following the lives of Julian of Norwich and Margery Kempe. In the tenth year of the "shewings," the Woodsman gives his concluding instructions on how to deepen one's spiritual life. Of special significance are: "The Anguish of Shem," "Daily Eucharist," and "Jesus' Atonement." Building on the earlier Brandon Shewings, Gyr Cot, Eriswell, Lakenheath, and Thetford Road, Santon Downham encourages reader to progress constantly in their own unique life's journey by listening carefully for and following the inspirations of the Holy Spirit of Love between Father and Son.
