David Douglas
David Douglas (1799–1834) was a highly influential Scottish botanist and plant collector. He discovered thousands of new species including the Douglas fir, and introduced over 200 species to Britain. His journal remained unpublished until this 1914 edition, which also includes contemporary reports of Douglas' mysterious death in Hawaii.
