No one expected to find the charred remains of a body in the ashes of the house fire. Town constable Paul Whipple knew of no one missing from the area. There were no old reports, or new missing-person write-ups, that had come to his office. It was a puzzle. No one was supposed to be home the day the call came in for a structure fire. It all seemed a little strange to the constable. Paul and his trusty bloodhound, Michelangelo, liked working puzzles. There was always something missed, overlooked by the untrained eye.
