Shortly after U. S. entry into World War II, a young housewife follows her G. I. husband to Texas so she can be nearby while he finishes training. When she doesn't hear from him for several months after he's been deployed, questions arise concerning his whereabouts. Her inquiries to the War Department create even more uncertainty and for the duration of the war, the young woman is left to wonder what became of her husband.
