The Predecessors are returning to the Southern Plain. However, Talaxana and Sei'aan are locked out of Parakan as an insurrection in the government unfolds. Undeterred, they return to the land of the Bor'ha Deen where the caretaker Sho'tha unlocks the secrets of the new shrine discovered in the mountains. Will the ancestors intercede? Will the Alakan be able to look past their prejudices and rivalries in order to defend their homeland?
