Wife of an Angel
G Kaur
This is a debut collection of poetry written by G. Kaur. Wife of an Angel - Wounds this Deep is about Love and Grief. Grief is one word that encompasses all the emotions that arise after the passing of a loved one. The Kubler Ross model postulates this series of emotions that are experienced after the loss of a loved one into five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and lastly acceptance. Although there are five stages, not everyone experiences them in order and it is possible to jump from one emotion to another. There are many ways to cope with loss, the author has turned to poetry as a way to express what she was feeling and she used it as a means of therapy. The words are raw, unedited and full of pure, intense emotions. These feelings are universal and we will all experience loss and grief many times in our lifetimes. These poems are filled with all the emotions the author has felt after the loss of her husband; She has always been one to write as a means of expressing herself and she chose it as the way to honour him.
