Phil and Len The Acorn Men

The story begins during wartime Britain in a Derbyshire village and explores how the community managed to get through those hard times. The small boy discovers that he has a talent for magic. The two large acorns told the boy the secret of their huge size which enabled the boy's family to create a special fuel which had a beneficial impact on the outcome of the war. The story concludes with the Prime Minister's congratulations.
