Storms of Life
John Evans
For the last eighteen years, Peyton Kinsley has been locked away in prison for a crime he did not commit. Through the wonders of DNA, he is exonerated and set free, with little fanfare. Now a free man, he must start all over and forge a life on his own. Peyton checks into a homeless shelter and begins to search for work. He encounters the two detectives who originally arrested him. They are unhappy that he is free and set out to destroy him. They cause him to lose a job, beat him brutally, try to set him up forcing him to return to prison, and then ultimately run him out of town away from the love of his life - Cali. After a while of escaping on the Appalachian Trail, he is called to settle in a small town - Shannon, Tennessee. In Shannon, Peyton attempts to build a new life, still in fear the detectives will find him, but he still yearns for Cali.
