Freddie Dean, also known as Uncle Freddie to the hood, is the owner of a local funeral parlor in the heart of Wilson, a small city in North Carolina. Over the years Wilson has been recognized for its high crime and murder rate, which earned it the name, Wide-A-Wake. Growing up in the hood, Kevin was always fascinated by the stories that his Uncle Freddie always told him when he went to see him at the funeral parlor, on this particular visit Kevin's life as he knows it would be changed forever.
