Volume Hatching for Illustrative Visualization Moritz Gerl

Hand-drawn illustrations are a traditional manner of conveying visual information in an abstract and aesthetic way. This work is dedicated to the automated generation of hand-drawn style hatching drawings from volumetric data. Based on a graphics-hardware accelerated determination of shape and lighting features, hatching strokes are generated in image space. An approach depicting contours with multiple strokes is proposed for rendering object contours illustratively.
