11 November 1918- Great War Armistice-an uneasy peace descends over Earth. Beneath a supposedly placid surface of world affairs, evil men plot actions certain to lead to a second world war. Cape Cod, summer 1940, a gifted boy wiles away summer vacation dabbling in the emerging science of rocketry. An equally gifted girl, older and wiser, takes a shine to him, slowly drawing him into her world.
