'Essential' can mean many things; it can mean absolutely necessary, indispensible, completely realized. But in the case of Dr. John's Essential Recordings we are talking about a different matter altogether. On this album, which comprises mostly of recordings made in the '60, you will find the fundamentals of what Dr. John was going to become; a blues-eccentric who combined New Orleans R&B with psychedelic rock and a formidable boogie & blues pianist with a lovable growl of a voice. It will show you the beginnings of an extraordinary artist. This collection is available on vinyl for the first time! " 180 grams audiophile vinyl " Insert
