A Gift from the Wise Men

What's being done about our social problems? We have increasing gun violence, racial injustice, and poverty, and we look to others to find answers. The president looks to Congress, mayors look to the police, and the people look for leadership. The lack of progress tells us that we are looking in the wrong places.



"Albert Einstein once said, "The problems that we are facing in the world today cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them." This suggests that we must look at our problems in new ways, but our inability to think differently prevents us from doing that.



This story is about a chance encounter with three wise men who teach us to examine our beliefs, think differently, and engage each other in respectful dialogue. The wise men provide the gift of helping us to realize that the answers lie within us, not with others. We are the ones we are looking for.



The book is designed to stimulate discussion, not to offer solutions. It is time that we start listening to each other, thinking differently, and coming together to find solutions.
