Sheldon Jackson Parables
Kenneth Smith
The author was a staff person at Sheldon Jackson, the Alaskan Christian school that has sent out acclimated scholars since 1878. Most were graduates but others merely salted their education with a year or two at Sheldon Jackson. Other authors may tell of the history and philosophy of the school. I prefer to merely mention incidents, persons or things that constitute the touchstone of Parables. Sheldon Jackson has grown up with the State of Alaska, from Mission, to Institute, to Industrial Home, to Training School, to High School, to Junior College, to College. It has always provided "Competent Christian Citizens" for the spiritual and secular needs of the state and country. A parable is an earthly story that carries a heavenly meaning. The enclosed parables are from Sheldon Jackson and to the world.
