It would help greatly when reading this book, to suspend the belief that all of the craziness of mankind is the natural order of things. That pattern of thought has been holding us back for millennia. All of the absurd aspects of human life are not required. The fundamental premise of this book is that it is absolutely not necessary that mankind's existence be plagued with all of the nonsensical behaviours that make human life something that is often just endured.

A rather common belief, reinforced by conditioning handed down to us, is that we are aberrant by design. That is a disastrous misbelief. The disruptive elements of human existence are not a necessity. We can live a life that is worth living as a race and as individuals: with reason. Unreason is a legacy, not a necessity.

There is a single misconception embedded in our subconscious that undermines everything we attempt. It needs to be recognized, acknowledged, and removed. Once it is, we will have removed a major obstacle to achieving maturity as a race.

The question that needs to be asked is why is it that humanity is so irrational, brutal, and violent? That is the first, most important question. The answer will surprise you.
