This short book compares two ancient traditions of knowledge: The Indo-European Vedic texts preserved in India-revived today as Maharishi Vedic(R) Science-and the Edda poems of the Northern, Central, and Eastern European people. There appears to be many close parallels between these two traditions. In this book, we will-in the light of modern science-focus on three important parallels:

A basic unified state underlying the vast variety in the universe - mental and physical. This foundation reflects the unified field that modern physics projects as the common source of everything in physical creation. The development of higher states of individual consciousness, leading to a life in fulfillment and permanent inner happiness. The development of higher states in the collective consciousness of society, resulting in an ideal, problem-free society.

Today this knowledge has extensive practical implications for improving performance and quality of life, as shown by scientific research on the Transcendental Meditation(R) technique and the advanced TM-Sidhi(R) program from Maharishi Vedic Science.
