And God Responded William G. Joseph

Each chapter is a dialog between a mortal and God. You are listening in on prayer. Those praying are ordinary people. The prayers are everyday varieties and conducted with no little familiarity. They are meant to provoke thought rather than give easy answers. This format has the advantage that the reader is not being spoken to or instructed but is overhearing a conversation and can consider the comments and ideas of both sides. They are short, not so that they can be dispatched quickly but to leave time for consideration and application by the reader. These dialogs end up encouraging a robust relationship with God that is firmly based in the real world. They are also excellent for group reading and discussion.
