United States Marine Corps Grade Insignia Since 1775

Revised in 2011. A detailed examination, in color plates, of the evolution of grade insignia worn by officers, enlisted personnel and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets since its inception in 1775. Also included is the grade insignia worn by the Confederate States Marine Corps from 1861 to 1865. Now includes the Confederate States Marine Corps from 1861 to 1865, the Republic of Texas Marine Corps from 1836 to 1845, the Women Marines, U. S. Navy personnel assigned to USMC units and the Young Marines.
