Why was it when Karen needed God's love and forgiveness the most she couldn't reach out to him? What is it about the Christian Church that causes it to become a stumbling block to many of the people it wants to bring into a relationship with God? How can the church become a more effective witness to God's love and grace? Dr. Robert Nideffer is a clinical psychologist who grew up believing that God was a crutch, and that science had or would eventually provide all of the answers to life's questions and challenges. Experiences in his own life, and in the lives of those he worked with, convinced him that the church was hypocritical, talking about love and grace yet behaving in very judgmental and condemning ways. Through most of his life, the last thing Dr. Nideffer ever expected to be was a witness to God's unconditional love and grace. Why Me Lord is about overcoming the roadblocks to faith imposed by science, by non-believing parents, and most of all by the church. It's about discovering God at work in the world and in one's own heart. It's about the joy that comes with feeling loved unconditionally, and with reaching out in love to others. Most of all, it's about grace.
