After years of excavating around the base of the Sphinx in Egypt, Clyde Teach stumbles upon a formula that changes the very fabric of society. This is most welcome given that the world finds itself in the throws of what can only be described as a Super Depression. Clyde is as puzzled by the location of the formula as he is by the formula itself. In plain sight, not engraved, not gilded but just scratched into the foot of the Sphinx, is a formula for the transmutation of matter?All Matter! With society changed, seemingly for the better, it isn?t long before everyone gets carried away with the application of the inventions that result from this formula, and naturally it isn?t too long before society starts to implode. With great wealth comes great responsibility, and this is true whether that wealth is material or intellectual. In the case of Clyde Teach, it is the irresponsible manner in which his intellectual wealth is used to create and control material wealth that ultimately threatens to destroy society completely.
