Booker, Barn Dog of Almosta Ranch is based on the life and antics of a little Jack Russell Terrier mix named Booker. McClain adds voice to the little dog, who was a throwaway rescued by the author's wife, Melinda. The author has a unique talent of assuming the persona of his canine friend as he builds a plausible and enchanting fictional story, which weaves the characters of all the ranch animals into the story. Reading Booker, Barn Dog of Almosta Ranch is a delightful experience for adults and particularly for young adults and teens.
