What is That Glowing Screen?
Kathy Muench
Do you love to play outside with your friends, or would you rather play video games on a computer? Well, a young girl named Sophie loved her fun childhood of active play. She loved going to parks, playing outdoors with friends, riding bikes, and playing sports. She also loved reading, coloring, and playing games. But what happens when she first sees a glowing screen in her house and continues to see more and more of these, both in her home and eventually school? Everyone seems to have a screen to look at! Will she spend more time staring at a screen or playing video games all day, instead of playing with her friends? Find out how Sophie learns that technology and devices have a time, place and day, but this needs to be balanced with family, friends, study, and play. This book is a good reminder for everyone how important balance is in life!
