In an unforgiving African terrain inhabited by wildebeests and snakes, a Zulu prince leads an entourage of soldiers, teenagers, and one young exile on an animal trail toward a distant magical mountain with hopes of pacifying its curse. As the group makes their way to Victoria Falls, they recall intriguing legends about vortexes opening in the face of the mountain rocks and swallow victims who are never heard from again. Despite his apprehension about the mountain curse, the exile follows through with his job of uncovering supernatural forces with the ability to open the vortex. As he inspects loose mountain stones, he leans into a rock and is rendered unconscious. He later wakes up alone in a strange underground world, where he is handcuffed by soldiers and transported to a cell, helplessly awaiting his fate. Now at the mercy of the king who rules the city, the man pleads for his freedom.
