Made for Joy is a brief study on faith and prayer, drawing both on Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Made for Joy helps deepen your faith and prayer life (Part I). Part II considers ongoing conversion in terms of being a disciple, becoming like Jesus (transformation) and loving who God loves (mission). In simple language, being a disciple is to embrace God's plan for our life, that is, (1) to accept God's mercy and enter into a relationship ith God and His People, the Church; (2) to become like Jesus; and (3) to love whom God loves. We come into a relationship with God and the Church through our initial (or adult) conversion, which is then sustained by a life of prayer, sacraments and fellowship with Christians. We grow to be like Jesus by strenuously seeking God's transforming power through sacramental grace and personal prayer. In fact, God wants to so transform our hearts that we love others as he loves them, taking on the missions of evangelization and caring for the needs of others.
