"Look before you leap." This very old adage is extremely applicable to your intention to enter the "Real World of the Entrepreneur." You have much looking to do before you leap.

The content of the book is focused on why become an entrepreneur. There are many resources available to address the how. However, in our high tech world, this is irrelevant until you are able to answer the why honestly and objectively.

According to "Small Business Trends," of all small businesses that started in 2011, only 4% made it to their second year. Even if you project that trend in 2018 ten times, that would only be 40%. Not good odds. Leading cause: Incompetence, 46%.

The number one reason a "startup" small business fails in the first year is a lack of understanding what it takes mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially to survive and thrive.

Ask trusted sources, people who have "been there and done that," to share their experiences. Keep in mind that you will be putting your future, family, and finances at risk.
