Breaking Before

Garrett Jameson has a bit of a problem. The war may be over, the Wall may have been conquered, but his little problem? That ticking time bomb just got bigger.

And her name is Cassandra Roe.

She's got mossy green eyes that shoot right into you, a body that begs to be stared at, and absolutely no memory of her past...
A past that the two of them share. A past that includes lies, betrayal and a whole heap of violence.

But Jameson's not that man anymore. He's well-respected now. He's Uriah Linfield's second in command, a powerful soldier, a trusted friend. And he'd prefer to stay that way. He doesn't want to get sucked back into what happened. He doesn't want to re-live it, and he certainly doesn't want to tell her about it.

So when Cass keeps showing up at his door, begging for answers with those eyes of hers, Jameson should be sending her away. He should slam the door in her face, but he just can't help himself. After all, they do have history, and Cass has always been impossible for him to ignore.

So instead of sending her packing, Jameson crosses every line he ever set for himself. He opens the door wider, he steps aside and he lets that ticking time bomb make herself comfortable on his living room couch.

Only time will tell when the damn thing explodes... and the damage it will do? He can't even begin to think about it.
