Ecological Changes and Its Adaptation Among the Lodha Tribe ( India)

Environment, Climate change and their various impacts seems to have major share in many contemporary studies. Away from all these studies, talks, conferences on climate change, some tribes who were living in close association with the nature are silently struggling to adapt to this new climate change along with the various alien laws and rules implemented on them. This book is an outcome of intensive fieldwork among Lodha tribe in India on their ecological perspective, exposure to the ecological changes, adaptation to such changes, depletion of natural resources, implementation of forest laws, utilizing the ever depleting minimum resources and the cultural changes in the process of adaptation. The first chapter of the book deals with the theoretical aspects of cultural ecology. The second chapter deals with fieldwork methodology then the State of West Bengal (India). The fourth chapter is an ethnographic account of the village called Sirish Chak (Field area) while the fifth chapter is on the various mode of adaptation to the changing environment and the six chapter is on Cultural Changes in the Process of Adaptation followed by Conclusion.
