Water hyacinth plant has been considered since longtime as an invasive plant and cause many problems to aquatic bodies in many countries. At the other sides, it has also pontetials to treat wastewater from industrial and domestic activities by removing and fixing heavy metals and other organic matters. Developping countries still facing problems for access to drinking water and wastewater treatment. The use of aquatic plants such as water hyacinth in wastewater treatment is an alternative option to overcome the problems of sustainable use of water and reduce the contamination from heavy metals in wastewater. It is clear that in the coming decades due to climate change issues, the world will face the problems of water shortage and many population will not have access to water; it is time to emphasize and encourage the reuse option of wastewater. This book adresses the possible use of water hyacinth mechanisms in industrial wastewater treatment by removing and fixing Zinc and Chromium mechanisms at laboratory pilot scale.
