Classic tracks of the Hip Hop world are given the spotlight in this sing-along rhythm game that lets players compete against the best of the rap world.

While many games have provided snippets of the Hip Hop world to players, Def Jam - Rapstar is one of the first to focus solely on the music genre itself. More than 40 of the worlds greatest Hip Hop artists make an appearance, including Kanye West, 2Pac, Wu-Tang Clan, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. When players pick up the mic in career mode, theyll have to rise through the ranks and prove themselves to the best in the business, unlocking new tracks and beats as they play.

Players can trade insults and lines against other rappers in Battle mode, firing punchlines to help build their final score. Players can also duet on certain tracks with another player, recording their own videos and uploading them online for the Hip Hop world to see. Once a song is complete, players will be given instant feedback on their performance, offering details on lyrical accuracy, timing and tone.
