Sweeney / Sweeney 2: Double Feature
The hard-nosed '70s British TV police series starring John Thaw as DI Jack Regan and Dennis Waterman as DS George Carter inspired this double bill of feature-length theatrical dramas. First, Scotland Yard Flying Squad ("Sweeney Todd" in Cockney slang) inspector Regan looks into the death of a mate's girlfriend and becomes ensnared in a deadly government conspiracy. Next, Regan and Carter must stop a gang of European bank robbers. 205 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English; Subtitles; English; audio commentary; theatrical trailers.
