Weyes Blood have been delivering excellent indie pop for more than a decade, but didn't receive her major breakthrough until 2019's Titanic Rising. A palpable breakthrough though. The album impressed the entire music world and was featured on almost every best album list in 2019.

According to Weyes Blood, Titanic Rising was the first album in a special trilogy, now continued on the album And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow. Where Titanic Rising was a kind of harbinger of the terrible things to come in the years after 2019, And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow is an album created in the middle of this chaos. Created in a dark time of instability and great change. This characterizes the songs, with themes of isolation, narcissism, the downside of technology and much more. These are not big manifestos or solutions, but hopefully eye-openers that shed light on our disillusionment.
