Remote Echoes Duster

Remote Echoes emerges as a compilation of Clay Parton and Canaan Amber's work on the Duster project, created over five years of intimate four-track recordings in domestic settings. This collection is woven together with a lo-fi aesthetic, capturing the raw and unrefined essence of their musical explorations. It combines tracks from cassette-exclusive demos known as Christmas Dust and On The Dodge and introduces a series of 14 tracks enriched with never-before-released pieces. The album showcases Duster's signature sound—distorted guitars melding with economical synths, subdued drums, and soft-spoken vocals—a sound that not only foreshadowed genres like chillwave and mumblecore but also embodied the quintessential slacker lifestyle, immortalized by the vices of cigarettes, coffee, and marijuana.
