Very Best Of
Freddie and the Dreamers
While many would view Freddie & The Dreamers as a minor footnote to the British Invasion of the mid 60's, the band nonetheless presents an interesting musical style unmatched by many of the period bands, with the exception of Herman's Hermits. The group's career began with "If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody" (original by James Ray) and their own "I'm Telling You Now", both reached number 2 in the U. K. in 1963. The band's stage act was enlivened by the comic antics of the 5-foot-3-inch-tall (1.60m) Freddie Garrity, who would bounce around the stage with arms and legs flying. They were a band that putted fun in Rock & Roll and deserve to be better known today.
