This 4 albums features big-voiced blues pianist and singer Memphis Slim and legendary double bass player Willie Dixon, who is credited with having helped create the Chicago blues sound. Memphis Slim, bridged the gap between rural juke joint barrelhouse piano and the emerging uptown blues styles of the late 1940s. This includes a fine collection of 78's, recorded between 1940 and 1948 illustrates what a fine singer and writer he was. 'Willie's Blues' is Willie Dixon's debut album, released in 1959. Given almost equal credit on the album was his piano accompanist, Memphis Slim, who played on all of the tracks and wrote the two numbers that were not penned by Dixon.
