Cold Choices Dick Hill

Following the events Jerry Mitchell encountered in Dangerous Ground, the former Naval pilot has risen to captain of his own sub. Now on a mission deep in the Barents Sea, north of Russia, Mitchell ventures into Russian waters to conduct seafloor reconnaissance. Mitchell and his crew are so immersed in their work, so confident of their success, that they dona (TM)t notice they have been spotted until ita (TM)s too late. A Russian submarine is directly above them, determined to halt the operation. The Russians attack aggressively, led by the energetic but inexperienced Captain First Rand Alexi Petrov.
The two subs collide, but Petrova (TM)s missteps leave the Russian boat crippled and stuck at the bottom of the ocean. If Mitchell and his crew dona (TM)t work quickly, the Russians will die from the bitter Arctic cold and carbon dioxide poisoning.
Mitchell finds himself facing the most difficult decision of his life. Should he try to save the lives of his enemies?
